In memory of Blake Rodgers, a dedicated lineman at Buckeye Rural Electric, this scholarship honors his commitment, skill, and passion for serving the community. The Blake Rodgers Memorial Scholarship supports students pursuing careers in electrical linework or other technical trades and skilled professions, helping to build the next generation of professionals in these fields. This scholarship is intended to inspire students to pursue careers in skilled technical trades and professions and honor Blake Rodgers’ legacy of dedication to his work and community.
Eligibility:
- Graduating high school seniors or current college students enrolled in an accredited program.
- Primary consideration is given to students pursuing a career in electrical linework or related utility fields.
- If no applicants meet the linework criteria in a given year, students pursuing other technical trades or skilled professions (e.g., welding, electrical technology, industrial maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, or nursing) may be considered.
Application Requirements:
- Application Form – Personal and academic information.
- Essay/Statement – A brief essay describing:
- Your career goals and why you chose your field of study.
- How your chosen trade or skilled profession contributes to your community or industry.
- If pursuing linework, share what inspires you about this career path.
- Transcript – Most recent high school or college transcript.
Award Amount:
- $1,500
